Who is the course designed for?
Already qualified trainers who wish to map across their knowledge, understanding, skills and comprehension to the Institute of Conflict Management in order to deliver physical skills training courses.
The ICM techniques have been delivered to staff working across Children’s Services, Education, Health Services, Social Care, NHS, Retail Sector, Transport and Public Services. Trainers should hold a current and valid licence to practice (ie; certification).
Course syllabus
Completion of pre-course assignment and evidence of continued professional development
Be able to deliver instruction in physical intervention skills
Be able to assess physical intervention skills
Understand physical interventions and the implications of their use
Understand the risks associated with using physical intervention
Understand how to reduce the risks associated with physical behaviour
Observation of micro-teach delivery of a physical intervention technique

You should already hold an in-date licence to practice (ie; certificate) to deliver both courses. For those trainers with either of these qualifications through a different awarding organisation we can map across your current qualification.
