Teaching union reports that…


- Every school day teachers across Scotland are intervening to physically restraint a pupil to prevent them from harming themselves or others.


- Regularly dealing with casework where teachers have been injured or subject to allegations stemming from physically intervening.


And yet, teachers in Scotland still await guidelines on the use of restraint in schools.


How many more reports like the ‘behaviour in Scottish Schools research – November 2023’ is it going to take?


I’ve said it before and I will keep on saying it…improve safety, enhance services.
